Before becoming a counsellor I worked in executive and leadership positions for commercial and charitable organisations. That experience helps me to understand the struggles and stress associated with an ever demanding and insecure workplace.
My training is integrative, this means working with a combination of cognitive, humanistic, psychodynamic, and existential techniques. Those approaches combine to enable my clients to investigate, learn, and make any changes they need to live authentically and sustainably. This happens within a defined model, it is all about growing understanding through relating.
My Diploma is accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) from the Kent & Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust, Inter-Psyche Training Institute. I am bound by the ethical code and values of BACP. As such my training and development is never ending with specialist courses supporting my main qualification. I have additional qualifications to deliver courses specifically related to disordered eating, bingeing, and bulimia.
I believe everyone has the ability to improve their experience of life. If you want to change habits, feelings, thoughts, or behaviours; the first step is to simply want to make that change, the second is to find the right person for you to work with.
When you are ready, I look forward to hearing from you and helping you all I can.
